2004 Atlantic Ocean hurricane season

There were 15 named storms during the 2004 season. Ivan was the big storm of the year, reaching 165 mph. There were a number of long-track intense storms, and Charley hit Florida as a Category 4.

Nine storms reached hurricane status. Of those, six became major hurricanes, just shy of the record seven. Maximum wind and minimum pressure are shown.
